What can I experience in Haag am Hausruck?

You will find several great offerings at the Luisenhöhe adventure mountain: discover nature and its phenomena on the “trail of the senses”; enjoy a breath-taking view from the 33 metre high look-out tower; climb among the tree tops in the “goruck” high wire park; or enjoy a cool breeze when heading downhill on the summer toboggan run. As well as the Luisenhöhe, Haag am Hausruck also has many other sport and leisure possibilities to offer.

Trail of the senses

Experience, feel and enjoy nature. The Trail of the senses is warmly recommended for families with young explorers. Starting from the valley station of the summer toboggan run, the trail of the senses is open throughout the year. It covers a distance of 3.5 kilometres and passes by 28 stations on the way through the Hausruck forest to the panoramic look-out tower. The signs are also written in braille.

The following photo gallery can be navigated with the arrow keys (left, right).

Panoramic look-out tower

The 32 metre high panoramic look-out in the midst of the Hausruck forest awaits you at the end of the “trail of the senses”. Count the steps on the way up and then enjoy the wonderful panorama from Ötscher in Lower Austria to the Untersberg in Salzburg, and from Innviertel to the heart of Upper Austria.

"goruck" high wire park

Anyone seeking adventure will find it in the "goruck" high wire park. Supervised by qualified trainers, you move between the tree tops in the different difficulty levels. Children can display their courage and dexterity on special routes.

Accessible mountain railway

The adventure mountain railway runs in a circular route with stops at the mountain station down to the valley. The first barrier-free cable-railway in Austria for people with disability or parents with strollers, the best way to get up to the mountain, where more experiences are waiting for the visitors

Summer toboggan run

From the Luisenhöhe it takes you through the Hausruck forest, across green meadows and down into the valley. From August 2015, parents and children can decide how fast they want to go down the overhauled  summer toboggan run. Whether quickly or at a more leisurely pace – great fun for the whole family is guaranteed.

Haag local museum

The Haag local museum, located in the picturesque Starhemberg castle, houses exhibits from the former brown coal mining industry, illustrates country life with the tools of our forefathers and has the best locally produced handicrafts with their guilds. You can also learn about the time of the peasant wars and Emperor Napoleon.

Maria Theresia golf club

Do you want to improve your handicap? In Haag am Hausruck an exceptionally well maintained and varied 18 hole championship course awaits you at the Maria Theresia golf club. The course has narrow and wide fairways, is flat in parts and hilly in others, and has both old and new tree populations. In short, it’s a pleasure for golfers of all abilities.
