Wallerner Körberl invites you to a pre-Christmas incense evening

In the dark Rauhnächte, incense played a central role for our ancestors. Plants and resins from the immediate surroundings were primarily used to cleanse homes and yards, to seek protection, and to welcome the New Year.

The Wallerner Körberl association invites you on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 6:30 PM to an atmospheric evening centered around  "Incense in Winter Traditions" . After collecting your own Wallerner Körberl at the day care center (Marktplatz 1, Wallern), participants can look forward to a diverse program.

Martina Nimmervoll will present various incense techniques and suitable accessories, explaining the effects of local herbs and resins – such as the "Bauernweihrauch," the fir resin. Afterwards, incense will also be burned together.

The evening will be accompanied by old, profound stories about Frau Holle, who roams the land during the Rauhnächte. This creates a special atmosphere that not only imparts knowledge but also serves as a pre-Advent prelude to the quiet season.
