The 24-hour cycling marathon Grieskirchen always takes place on the first weekend of July. Austria's most popular bike race lasts 24 hours and will next be held from July 11-12, 2026. The 21.5 km-long circuit takes riders through the picturesque hilly landscape of the Vitalwelt Bad Schallerbach vacation region. Participants must conquer 173 meters of elevation. It may not seem like much, but the racers achieve feats that are almost superhuman, as the goal is to complete as many laps as possible within 24 hours - either solo or in a team. In total, participants pedal over 200,000 street kilometers, consume over half a ton of bananas, and are cheered on by more than 10,000 spectators, who are offered a diverse supporting program.
