SABTOURS - Successful in Upper Austrian tourism for over 55 years!

Company foundation in 1961: In this year Franz Stöttinger and Hans Schierl founded a bus company in equal parts in order to acquire the vacated Wels line concession for the route Krankenhaus - Kaiser Josef Platz.

The fathers of today's owners, however, very quickly recognized the great desire for travel of the people of Upper Austria at that time and further developed our company in the direction of bus and air tourism.

The development of our company can be divided into 3 stages:

• the start-up phase of the bus business from 1961 to approx. 1985
• the expansion of the business to a successful tourism company from approx. 1973 to 1989
• the expansion to the leading owner-managed bus and tourism company in Upper Austria from 1997 until today

Since the generation change in the management, the economic conditions in general, but especially in the tourism industry, have changed significantly. During this time, sabtours has successfully developed into the largest private tourism company in Upper Austria.

Today our tourism group is active in 3 business areas:

• Bus operations with 130 buses at 4 locations: Wels, Linz, Rohrbach and Bad Hall
• Travel agency branch network with 17 travel agencies: Linz/Arkade, Linz/Urfahr, Linz/Interspar, Pasching/PlusCity, Bad Hall, Eferding, Freistadt, Grieskirchen, Kirchdorf, Pregarten, Rohrbach, Vöcklabruck, Wels and Lambach, as well as in Vienna, St. Pölten and Salzburg
• tour operator with the companies Kneissl Touristik and sabtours Touristik
