Schmiding zoo and aqua zoo

Giraffes and tigers, rhinos and gorillas, flamingos and reef sharks –Schmiding zoo and aqua zoo is home to more than 2,000 animals. In an area covering 14 hectares you will encounter more fascinating wildlife from different regions of the world. Zoo The gorilla bay with Austria’s only gorillas is an absolute highlight. Come and watch them beating their chests, lazing around and exercising. From the outlook platform in the African savannah area you can stand eye to eye with the six metre tall giraffes. The naturally designed habitat for Siberian tigers is equally impressive, as is the world’s largest walk-in birds of prey enclosure where you can observe mighty vultures without having to stand behind any railings. Aqua zoo The aqua zoo with Austria’s largest sea aquarium is a fascinating experience – even in bad weather or in winter. Come and encounter reef sharks, surgeon fish and many other exotic animals. The offering is rounded off with exciting adventure playgrounds and homely food.
