Museum "Kulturama Schloss Tollet"

Grieskirchen, Oberösterreich, Österreich
The "Kulturama Schloss Tollet" museum is located in Tollet Castle near Grieskirchen, whose history dates back to 1170, when a first fortification was built under Ortlof von Tollet.

On 23 April 2009, the museum "Kulturama Schloss Tollet" opened its doors after extensive renovation work in the run-up to the Upper Austrian Provincial Exhibition "Reformation and Renaissance". It is primarily dedicated to temporary exhibitions on a wide range of topics. As part of the provincial exhibition, the Bezirksheimathausverein presented the accompanying exhibition "Standpunkte - Die Jörger von Tollet und ihre Ära" (Viewpoints - The Jörgers of Tollet and their Era), which shed light on the noble family of the Jörgers of Tollet.

Apart from the exhibition activities, the museum association is intensively engaged in re-archiving the exhibits. In addition, numerous cultural events are offered annually in the museum programme.

The museum is open on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 1:30 pm to 5 pm.

Other visiting times are also possible by arrangement (by telephone or in writing).
