Geboltskirchen, Oberösterreich, Österreich

The resort for all seasons!

Geboltskirchen was dominated by lignite mining until 1964, but today the village has many excursion destinations, hiking and cycling trails. At 550 metres above sea level, Geboltskirchen is surrounded by greenery and yet centrally located. The warm-hearted nature of the locals allows holidaymakers to get to know not only the region but also the people behind it.

While hiking enthusiasts can enjoy themselves in and around the Hausruck, fitness fans can make use of Upper Austria's first Nordic.Fitness.Park, the region's network of cycle paths, the tennis courts, the indoor curling alley and the local riding school.

In the cold season, Geboltskirchen can score sporting points with snowshoe hikes and a groomed cross-country ski trail. The cross-country trail (classic and skating) with a length of 7.8 kilometres and 131 metres of altitude difference is suitable for beginners and ambitious cross-country skiers.

For those who prefer to take it easy, there is the wellness offer with thermal water,
offered by some of Geboltskirchen's accommodation establishments.

Finally, all guests will find a relaxing end to the day in a cider tavern and inns in the village, which invite you to a cosy get-together.

Next to the Scheiben coal station is the "Trattnach Ursprung" nature discovery trail. The Trattnach begins its almost 50-kilometre-long journey here in Geboltskirchen. Information boards and adventure stations encourage young and old to participate and bring the element of water closer.

Also worth mentioning is the Upper Austrian Nativity School with great homemade exhibits.
