The program honors the Russian composer Peter Tchaikovsky. It brings together some of the most famous romantic pieces of the composer for violin and cello, each accompanied by piano, along with his monumental work for all three instruments – the Piano Trio in A minor, Op. 50, which is dedicated to his friend Nikolai Rubinstein.

Kirill Troussov
Already promoted at a young age by Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Kirill Troussov is today one of the most sought-after violinists of his generation. The international press writes about his playing: “impressive elegance, unmatched technique, extraordinary sensitivity, and tonal colors of divine beauty” Kirill Troussov has performed in renowned concert halls and international music festivals in numerous metropolises worldwide.
His collaborations with prominent conductors such as Sir Neville Marriner, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Daniele Gatti, Lawrence Foster, Jiri Belohlàvek, Michail Jurowski, David Stern, Christoph Poppen, Vladimir Spivakov, Mikko Frank, and Louis Langrée, as well as with orchestras like the Staatskapelle Berlin, Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre National de Lyon, Orchestre National de France, Hessisches Rundfunk Symphony Orchestra, SWR Symphony Orchestra Baden-Baden, Munich Philharmonic, and Bamberg Symphony, have taken him among others to the Tonhalle Zurich, Berliner Philharmonie, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Palais des Beaux Arts Brussels, Théâtre du Châtelet, Théâtre des Champs Elysées, De Doelen, NCPA in Beijing, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, Verbier Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Festival, and Menuhin Festival Gstaad.
His passion for chamber music and friendship connects Kirill Troussov with artists such as Sol Gabetta, Yuja Wang, Daniel Hope, Joshua Bell, Gautier and Renaud Capucon, Yuri Bashmet, Mischa Maisky, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Julian Rachlin, Christian Zacharias, and Natalia Gutman.
His substitution for Gidon Kremer in Paris, the Asian tour with the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, the spectacular performance at BBC Proms, and his role as a jury member at international competitions, including the Schönfeld International String Competition, the Eugene Ysaye, and the Carl Flesch Competition, are just a few highlights of his recent seasons. His international awards include the European Culture Prize, the Davidoff Prize of the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, the international Yamaha Prize, and the Reuters Prize at the Verbier Festival.
Kirill Troussov regularly gives masterclasses at: Mozarteum Salzburg, The Colburn School Los Angeles, Beijing and Nanjing Central Conservatory, European Music Institute Vienna, Cremona, Milan, Madrid, Dublin, Berlin, Munich, Oslo, Budapest, USA, and Hong Kong.
Since 2023, Kirill Troussov has been the Artistic Director of the Carl Flesch Academy in Baden-Baden and since 2021 the chairman and artistic director of the Hong Kong International Young Musicians Competition.
Kirill Troussov’s CD recordings – among others with EMI Classics, Warner Classics, Dabringhaus & Grimm, Naxos, and Farao Classics – have been awarded multiple international accolades. Additionally, he is featured with Yuja Wang on her DVD with Kurt Masur.
Since 2023, the label “Orchid Classics” is releasing the series “Kirill Troussov Live” on all popular streaming platforms, featuring over 40 live performances.
As of August 2024, Kirill Troussov will take the position of “Artistic Advisor” at the international music festival “Kaposfest” in Hungary.
He completed his studies with Zakhar Bron and Christoph Poppen. His mentors include Igor Oistrach, Herman Krebbers, and Sir Yehudi Menuhin.
Kirill Troussov plays the Antonio Stradivari "The Brodsky" from 1702, with which Adolph Brodsky premiered Peter Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto on December 4, 1881.
Benedict Kloeckner
Benedict Kloeckner, born in 1989, has won numerous competitions and awards, most recently the OPUS Klassik 2021.
He is considered one of the outstanding artists of his generation. He performs worldwide as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra London, the German Radio Philharmonic, the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, the NDR Radio Philharmonic, the MDR Symphony Orchestra, the German State Philharmonic, the Kremerata Baltica, the Oslo Camerata, and the Munich Chamber Orchestra, and works with prominent conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Christoph Eschenbach, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Ingo Metzmacher, Cristian Macelaru, Michael Sanderling, Clemens Schuldt, Heinrich Schiff, and Sir Simon Rattle.
He appears in concert halls such as the Berlin Philharmonie, Carnegie Hall New York, Kennedy Center Washington, Symphony Hall Chicago, Arts Center Seoul, Suntory Hall Tokyo, Musikverein Vienna, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Tonhalle Zurich, Gasteig Munich, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Rudolfinum Prague, Athenaeum Bucharest, and Barbican, Cadogan, and Wigmore Hall London.
In the 2022/2023 season, he played all 6 Bach Suites at the Berlin Philharmonie and the Alte Oper Frankfurt. In the 2022/2023 season, he will again perform at the Berlin Philharmonie, both in a recital with Anna Fedorova and as a soloist in Dvořák's Cello Concerto with the Portuguese National Orchestra.
Additionally, he will perform in the Kennedy Center Washington Shostakovich Concerto No.1 and make his debut at the Philharmonie Paris, as well as the Cologne Philharmonie.
Moreover, he will play, among others, with the Romanian Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Cristian Macelaru, the Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne under the direction of Joseph Bastian, the Filarmonica di Teatro Communale di Modena under the direction of Henrik Nanasi, the Georgian Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Daniel Raiskin, and the Brasov Philharmonic Orchestra, and will tour Japan and South Africa, where he will perform with the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra.
In Armenia, he will make his debut with the Armenian National Orchestra under the direction of Vladimir Fedoseyev.
Benedict Kloeckner is a sought-after guest at festivals around the world. His chamber music partners have included Emanuel Ax, Lisa Batiashvili, Yuri Bashmet, Christoph Eschenbach, Vilde Frang, Gidon Kremer, Anne Sophie Mutter, and Sir András Schiff.
Benedict Kloeckner regularly collaborates with the great contemporary composers of our time. In 2018, he premiered Wolfgang Rihm's Double Concerto for 2 Cellos and Strings.
At the Seoul Arts Center, he was able to give the world premiere of Eun Hwa Cho's Cello Concerto with the Korean Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Christoph Poppen. With the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg under Peter Tilling, he also presented the Austrian premiere of Dai Fujikura's Cello Concerto in Salzburg.
In 2020, he played the world premiere of 7 works composed for him by Howard Blake, Elena Kats-Chernin, José Elizondo, Dai Fujikura, Geoffrey Gordon, Bongani Ndodana-Breen, and Eric Tanguy.
His CD recordings have been highly praised by the international press and nominated for the German Record Critics' Award.
Recordings have been made in collaboration with artists such as Gidon Kremer, conductors Cristian Macelaru, Heinrich Schiff, and Michael Sanderling, pianists Danae Dörken, Anna Fedorova, Yu Kosuge, Mario Häring, Ragna Schirmer, and José Gallardo, violinists Kirill Troussov, Ragnhild Hemsing, as well as composers Wolfgang Rihm and Howard Blake.
Most recently, his recording of the Brahms Sonatas with Yu Kosuge was released by Sony in 2023.
Since 2014, Benedict Kloeckner has been the artistic director of the “International Music Festival Koblenz” IMUKO.
He received his artistic training from Prof. Martin Ostertag at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe, as well as from Prof. Frans Helmerson and Gary Hoffman at the Kronberg Academy, enabled by the Angela Winkler Scholarship.
Benedict Kloeckner plays the “Ex Maurice Gendron” cello by Francesco Ruggeri (1680), a generous loan.
Alexandra Troussova
Throughout her career, Alexandra Troussova has collaborated with conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Sir Neville Marriner, Gerd Albrecht, Antoni Wit, Josef Suk, Volker Schmidt-Gertenbach, Walter Weller, Wolfgang Gönnenwein, Kaspar Zehnder, and Michel Tilkin.
Her successful performances have taken her to concert halls such as the Konzerthaus Berlin, Prinzregententheater Munich, Kurhaus Wiesbaden, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Théâtre du Châtelet, Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Auditorium du Louvre Paris, Opéra de Lyon, Tonhalle Zurich, Gulbenkian Foundation Lisbon, Monte Carlo Opera, Royal Conservatory Brussels, and Auditorio Nacional de Musica Madrid.
She regularly appears at renowned music festivals such as the Verbier Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Festival Carinthischer Sommer, Saint-Denis Festival, Festival La Folle Journée, Festival de musique de Sully, Festival Piano aux Jacobins, Festival Piano à Auxerre, Festival Saint-Riquier, Festival Septembre Musical, Florilegio Musical Salmantino, Al Bustan Festival, Festival de Lanaudière, Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, and Klavierfestival Ruhr.

Alexandra Troussova has celebrated great success worldwide as a duo with her brother, the violinist Kirill Troussov. The siblings living in Munich are among the very few world-class sibling duos.
Their joint recordings – among others with EMI Classics – have received numerous accolades from the international press.
The current CDs “Emotions” (Dabringhaus and Grimm) and “Memories” (Dabringhaus and Grimm) of the sibling duo have been highly praised internationally, including by the Süddeutsche Zeitung and the French music magazine “Diapason.”
Alexandra Troussova studied with James Tocco, Dimitri Bashkirov, Vadim Suchanov, and Alfredo Perl.
Numerous television and radio recordings, including in Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Canada, and the USA, showcase Alexandra Troussova's pianistic versatility.
