On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of the great poetess Mascha Kaléko, Etta Scollo and Corinna Harfouch dedicate themselves in an intense stage project to the life and work of this extraordinary woman. Under the title "Nowhere Land – A Literary-Musical Evening in Honor of Mascha Kaléko," an evening concert unfolds between chanson, poetry, and political remembrance. In musical dialogue with other musicians, a polyphonic evening arises that brings the depth and complexity of Kaléko's work to life anew.
“Wherever I travel, I go to Nowhere Land” – as stated in Mascha Kaléko's poem “Not a Children's Song.” Her life path stands exemplarily for many voices silenced by displacement and loss of home – yet continue to resonate.
An evening about loss, belonging, and the power of language. A concert project that connects past, present, and future – poetically, politically, deeply moving.
Etta Scollo is a composer and performer between Berlin and Sicily. 19 albums, two gold records, awarded the Ruth World Music Prize. Her sound language combines poetry and social engagement – in a trio or with orchestras like the German Chamber Philharmonic, Ensemble Resonanz, among others. Artist-in-Residence at Villa Massimo. 2024: Order of Merit of Italy.
Corinna Harfouch is among the most important actresses in the German-speaking world. She has performed at the Volksbühne, the German Theater, in films like The Downfall or Lara, and has received numerous awards, including the German Film Prize, the Theater Prize Berlin, and the Kainz Medal. With vocal precision and great emotional range, she gives new power to Kaléko's words.
