Built in 1604, with baroque fresco

Anyone walking along the town square will notice the arch between houses three and four. Until 1857, the Viehbach stream flowed here in the direction of Roßmarkt. There are two legends about the construction of the Schwibbogen. It is said that the owners of the two houses regularly played cards. The owner of the left house was constantly losing and already had large debts. At a last tournament, where the winner was supposed to get a room in the other house, he lost again. So the neighbor built the Schwibbogen to get into his won room. Even today one room belongs to the owner of the right house. The second legend is about a builder who built the arch with the help of the devil. He got scared and confided in the priest. When after the completion of the arch the devil demanded his wages, the priest appeared and sprinkled the devil with holy water. The devil escaped through a hole in the arch. Above this hole was placed a fresco depicting the Mother of God.
